Ongar and District Community Association Events
Our August Comedy Club Night was another resounding success. The next one to look forward to is on Friday 6th December. If you have come to any of our previous Comedy Club Nights you will know how popular they are and this will be a great pre-Christmas fun evening Tickets can be purchased at www.laughingchili.co.uk, by scrolling down to find Ongar, or through the link on our website. The door and bar open at 7.30pm, and the show starts at 8.30pm.
There will be a Seniors Lunch on Wednesday 27th November. Further information will be available nearer the time.
Other News and Updates
The electrical upgrade work was completed in August, and we are preparing for the ballroom refurbishment scheduled for January and February next year. During this period, the ballroom will be closed, but other rooms will remain available for use.
Budworth Hall is a Grade 2 Listed Victorian Building, built in 1886. Maintaining it and upgrading the facilities is expensive. Although we have received some grant funding, we were unsuccessful in obtaining help for the bay window repairs at the front of the building. Despite this, the repairs will proceed to prevent further damage. We have now purchased a stairlift to allow disabled access from the ballroom to the toilets and bar area. The installation is expected to be completed during or after the ballroom refurbishment.
Our AGM will take place in the ballroom on 8th November at 7:30 pm.
As you know the ODCA is run by volunteers, and we are always looking for more people to join and support us. If you have skills that might be useful or would like to help, please consider becoming a “Friend of Budworth Hall.” We greatly appreciate any extra help and support.

The Budworth Hall office is closed, but the Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. For enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and enquiry details. Please only telephone us on 07918 462959 if you have no access to email, and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
