Hey Diddle Diddle sessions on Wednesday are cancelled for the foreseeable future – if they return, we will put a notice on our outside board.

New: EFDC – Active Living Classes – Thursdays 1–2pm.  Active Living Classes is a free lifestyle change programme with a professional team working with the individual to find ways to fit physical activity into their daily life to help improve well-being.  To join, you need to be referred by your GP or if you think you could benefit you can contact direct Fabrizio Ferrari, Senior Health and Wellbeing Engagement Officer, on 01992 564567 to discuss if the classes are suitable for you.

New:  EFDC – Strength and Balance Classes – Thursdays 2–3p.m.  This is a drop-in session to improve strength and mobility through simple exercises.  Pay as you go £3 per session.

New: Come and Play Every Tuesday 10:15 am – 11:30am during term time only. Free Entry and make new friends in you local community, fun filled session full of toys and equipment to explore.

Community Health and Wellbeing

The Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team provides a programme of community events, activities, courses, classes and projects throughout the district in order to promote healthy lifestyles (see menu on right hand side for more information). The Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team’s aim is to encourage and increase participation in sport, physical activity, play and to promote health and wellbeing opportunities for all ages and abilities. We also aim to enable all sections of the community to have access to a wide range of high quality sports, leisure and health and wellbeing services.

Ongar Art Society

Ongar Art Society welcomes artists of all levels of experience as well as those who simply have an interest in the subject.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month, 8-10pm, for demonstrations, talks and critiques of members works. Members may exhibit at our Summer Exhibition as well as a Winter Art Sale, both of which are held at Budworth Hall. We also offer workshops and sketching days for members.

Our monthly meetings are held at High Ongar Village Hall, Mill Lane, High Ongar, CM5 9RN.
