Ongar and District Community Association Events
Our next Comedy Club Night is on Friday 6th Dec. Those who have attended any of our previous Comedy Club Nights will know how popular they are. This will be a great pre-Christmas fun evening so book your tickets now at www.laughingchili.co.uk, scrolling down to find Ongar. You can also book through the link on our website. The door and bar open at 7.30pm, and the show starts at 8.30pm. As you leave, please dispose of any litter or bottles in the bins provided to help our volunteers who clear up after events. Thank you.
Our Senior Social afternoon tea will be on Wednesday 4th Dec, 2pm to 5pm, with entertainment from The Rock Choir.
On Saturday 14th December we will be hosting a Christmas Celebration in conjunction with Phoenix 98 FM Radio’s Open Mic, 7.30pm – 12.00. Entry will be free. For further information, check our social media pages and website.
Other News and Updates
The ODCA were pleased to host and support Challenge Ongar on 11th & 12th October, which saw various sponsored challenge activities being undertaken to help raise funds for the Senior Wellness Hub run by Amanda McGregor (Heart of Holistic Health) and Michelle Russell (Maximise Fitness.)
In preparation for the ballroom refurbishment, rewiring and electrical work continues. The ballroom refurbishment is scheduled for January and February next year, and a reminder that during this period, the ballroom will be closed. However, other rooms will remain available for use.
A new fire alarm was installed in October following the failure of the old system.
The ODCA Annual General Meeting will take place in the ballroom on Friday 8th November at 7:30 pm.
ODCA is run by volunteers and would welcome more people to join and support us, so we can continue to run and maintain the historic Budworth Hall for the local community. If you have any skills that might be useful, or would like to help in any way, (which could be as simple as helping to serve tea at our Senior events,) please get in touch. We would greatly appreciate any extra help and support.

The Budworth Hall office is closed, but the Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. For enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and enquiry details. Please only telephone us on 07918 462959 if you have no access to email, and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
