Our Tea Dance on March 6th was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. Keep an eye out for the next one—we’d love to see you there!
The Comedy Club Night on March 7th, was yet again another sell-out show! A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the evening—and extra thanks for helping us by using the bins provided. It made a huge difference to our cleanup efforts.

Our Open Day was on 12th April. As this took place after the article submission deadline, we’ll provide a full report next month. Thank you to all who joined us—we hope you enjoyed finding out more about what your Budworth Hall has to offer, and were as delighted as we are with the incredible ballroom transformation.
Other News and Updates
Many of you have asked about the Budworth Hall clock. Like you, we miss checking the time as we walk by! Unfortunately, the repair is more complicated than first anticipated. Gillett and Johnston, who installed the clock in 1887 and still look after it today, have been asked to come and provide a repair quote to get it working again
The new wheelchair stairlift has now been installed, providing easy access from the ballroom to the bar. Accessibility continues to be one of our priorities.
The Ongar and District Community Association (ODCA) is run entirely by volunteers—and we’d love for you to join our team! Whether you can serve tea at our senior events or contribute your time and skills in other ways, every bit helps. You don’t need to be on the committee—just becoming a “Friend of Budworth Hall” is a great start. Interested? Get in touch! We’d love to hear from you.

The Budworth Hall office is closed, but the Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. For enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and enquiry details. If you have no access to email, you can call us on 07918 462959, and leave a message. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
