Ongar and District Community Association Events
Our December Comedy Club Night was yet another sell-out so to avoid disappointment, be sure to book your tickets for out next one which is on Friday 6th March at www.laughingchili.co.uk (scroll down to find Ongar) or through the link on our website. Doors and bar open at 7:30pm, the show starts at 8:30pm.
The Christmas Celebration featuring the Phoenix Radio Open Mic singers was enjoyed by all who attended. Our thanks to the singers for giving up their time, and to Kevin for organising the event.
Other News and Updates
There is little news to report this month due to Christmas and New Year closure. However, you may have noticed that we now have two new A3 display boards on the high street, one of which has information about hiring the hall, and the other for advertising our events.
You may also have noticed that unfortunately the clock in the bell tower has been showing the incorrect time. we are hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible.
As mentioned last month, our next project is to be the refurbishment of the amazing ballroom sprung ballroom floor. This is a specialist job, so we are investigating the best company to do this for us. Air conditioning remains on our “wish list” for some time in the future, when funds allow!
Budworth Hall was generously gifted to the people of Ongar and has operated as a charity since 1963, serving Chipping Ongar and the surrounding villages. Contrary to what many believe, it is not owned or run by the council, but by the Ongar and District Community Association (ODCA), a team of local volunteers. If you would like to get involved or offer support, we would be delighted to hear from you. We are always grateful for any additional help. Why not become a “Friend of Budworth Hall” and share any skills which you feel could benefit. We would love to have a list of “willing helpers” we could call on if needed.

Hire and Contact details
The Ballroom, Concert Hall, Committee Room, and Bar Area are available for hire 7 days a week at competitive rates. For enquiries, please email budworthhall-ongar@outlook.com with your name, telephone number, and enquiry details. Please only telephone us on 07918 462959 if you have no access to email. Leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

The onsite Coffee Bar and Restaurant is run by Nerissa and Claire and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
